Learn to square dance

 The Happy Go Lucky beginner square dances for fall 2025 will begin on September 12 and the dances are open to brand new dancers until October 10 .  The first class is free.  Classes are held 2nd and 4th Friday nights from 7:00pm to 8:00 at the West Mifflin Fire House #3 (see directions page) and precede the regular Happy Go Lucky club dances.  The cost for each dance is $6/person.  Couples and singles who have had previous square dance experience are welcome.  

At beginner dances, the basics of square dancing are taught.  So that these dances are not repetitive and boring, you learn new movements during each session and many different styles of music will be used.  Once a dancer is familiar with the  basic movements,  they will be able to dance with square dance groups, not only in Pittsburgh, but in cities across the United States and in many countries around the world.  See our Why  Square Dance page for the reasons why people square dance.
